Customise your card design

Photos, banners, brand colours, and typography — every design control explained.

The card editor gives you full control over your card's visual identity, with a live preview that updates as you work.

Teams note: if your admin has applied a locked template to your card, some fields won't be editable. Contact your admin if you need a locked element changed.

Profile photo

Your photo sits at the top of your card and is the first thing contacts see.

  • Click Upload Photo and pick an image.
  • At least 400 × 400 px, square, works best. JPG, PNG, and WebP are supported.
  • A professional headshot on a simple background reads best at small sizes.

Banner image

The banner is the wide image behind your profile photo.

  • Around 1200 × 400 px (landscape) works best.
  • Use a branded image, or leave it empty for a minimal look.

Name, title, and bio

Your name and job title appear under your photo. The bio field takes a sentence or two about who you are and what you do — keep it short and focused.

Brand colours

  1. In the editor, open Colours.
  2. Enter your brand hex code (e.g. #1A2B3C) or use the picker.
  3. The preview updates in real time.

Your primary colour is used for buttons, accents, and highlights across the card.

Typography

Umbel gives you the full Google Fonts library.

  1. Open Typography in the editor.
  2. Search for a font by name (Inter, Montserrat, Playfair Display, …).
  3. Select it and it applies across your card immediately.

Stick to one font that matches your brand, and avoid decorative fonts that are hard to read on small screens.

Saving

There's no save button — changes apply automatically as you make them. Your card URL and QR code never change when you update the design, so everyone who already has your link sees the latest version.
